Welcome to our unique and one-of-a-kind Online 25 hr Postpartum Corrective Yoga Teacher Training.  This training prepares yoga teachers, birth workers and educators to teach postpartum students safe functional movement practices, breathing techniques to avoid pressure and anatomical assessment to encourage all to heal from the inside out.  If you're a Yoga Alliance teacher, these hours can be used for Online Continuing Education Units (CEU'S).  Yes, upon completion, you'll receive a Certificate to teacher and gain employment!

Postpartum Yoga Journey

Mamata Yoga’s Postpartum Corrective Yoga Training is a unique, educational program for yoga teachers, mothers, educators, birth workers and fitness leaders. With over 17 years of experience instructing perinatal yoga classes, perinatal education courses and anatomical alignment principles for mothers and parents during the postpartum yoga healing journey.

Correct Postpartum Challenges

Mamata Yoga has a reputation for leading mothers into a safe and mindful prenatal practice, both on and off the mat. We are elated to be expanding our knowledge with this NEW training to spread the love worldwide! This training differs from the 25 hr Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training as the postpartum yoga classes are taught with the focus on mother/parents and their recovery using different types of movement practices to correct postpartum challenges. Generally, these classes are taught without babies.

Interactive Training

Mamata Yoga ensures quality and integrity throughout all of our teacher training options and our online program is no exception. With over 20 hours of instructed recordings connecting with Clare Newman (E-RYT 500), this interactive and uniques training was created for teachers, educators and fitness leaders wanting more anatomical and physiological knowledge during more advanced movement.  

Postpartum Recovery

This corrective training is most suitable for students and clients after 9 months of postpartum recovery who are interested in more corrective and functional movement exercises to correct asymmetry and postpartum challenges that are causing overall weakness and tightness of misalignment.

This training approached healing from the 'inside' to prepare for a stronger and more stable postpartum recovery, which allows you to feel better on the outside. 

The Postpartum Body: Anatomical Review

Explore all the 'newness' of the postpartum body after birth.  The shift in posture and hip alignment.  Functional movement patterns to create healthy range.  

Mindfulness + Meditation for Postpartum Wellness

Parenting is not easy, especially when trying to take care of ones 'Self.  Mindfulness techniques are an important part of healing and moving within a more centred awareness.

Postpartum Assessment

We start this training with a self assessment, exploring our own movement patterns will allow for a better understanding of the postpartum body so we can help to correct alignment and asymmetry after birth!

The Body Pelvis + The Pelvic Floor

Just because you had a vaginal birth, doesn't mean you need to contract your pelvic diaphragm?  You could also be hypertonic or over-gripping!  We discuss more....

Diastasis + Functional Core

Let's take a deep dive into Diastasis and why it's not healing; the structure of the abdominal wall and the core muscles (which aren't the same as the abdominal muscles). 

The Anatomy of the Breath - Managing Pressure During Movement

The breath is the first foundation of movement and if you're holding your breath, chances are you're adding more unnecessary load.  

Abdominals: Healing Layer By Layer

Training Requirements

  • Complete: 5 LIVE Zoom classes (Live Online Training) or Review all 18 training videos on the training platform (Self-Paced training)
  • Observe: 5 Postpartum Corrective Yoga Classes - Online or In Studio
  • Record: a one hour Postpartum Corrective Yoga class to be submitted and reviewed
  • Meet with Clare: a 30 minute LIVE Zoom session for review


Upon completing the training requirements, you will be sent a PDF copy of a certificate valid for employment opportunities as well as to obtain insurance. If you are a previous Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher you may use these hours towards your CEU’s (Continuing Education Units). Mamata Yoga is a Registered with Yoga Alliance as a YACEP.
